Overview

Noor Plus is a Chrome browser extension that provides Islamic prayer times, Adhan audio reminders, Quran recitations, and a Dhikr counter. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data the extension collects, how it is used, and what leaves your device.

Data We Collect

Location Data (Latitude & Longitude)

What: Your geographic coordinates (latitude and longitude), and an approximate city/region name derived from those coordinates.

Why: Prayer times vary by location. The extension uses your coordinates to calculate accurate daily prayer times using the adhan.js library — all calculations happen locally on your device.

How it is obtained: Only when you click "Auto-detect Location" or open the "Nearest Mosque" tab. The extension requests your location via the browser's built-in Geolocation API. If denied/unavailable, it falls back to an IP-based lookup via ipapi.co. You can also enter coordinates manually.

Where it is stored: Locally on your device only, using chrome.storage.local. Your coordinates are never transmitted to our servers — we do not operate any servers.

How to delete it: Open the extension settings, switch to manual coordinates, and overwrite the saved values. Or uninstall the extension.

Prayer & Athkar Tracker Logs

What: A daily log of which prayers you marked as prayed at home/mosque, and your Athkar repetition counts.

Why: To show you personal statistics.

Where it is stored: Locally on your device only, using chrome.storage.local. This data is never transmitted anywhere.

Third-Party Services

The extension uses external services that receive your coordinates or IP:

• Nominatim (OpenStreetMap): Converts coordinates to city names and provides mosque search fallback. Privacy: osmfoundation.org/wiki/Privacy_Policy
• Overpass API: Finds nearby mosques. Privacy: osmfoundation.org/wiki/Privacy_Policy
• ipapi.co: Estimates location via IP if location is denied. Privacy: ipapi.co/privacy/

Data We Do NOT Collect

• No name, email, or account information.
• No tracking of browsing activity or history.
• No analytics or advertising SDKs.
• No backend storage — there is no Noor Plus server.

Children's Privacy

This extension is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from children.
